Wealthy spark #1:<\/mark>Be foolish<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Be foolish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not stupid foolish.  Creatively foolish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Steve Jobs formally dropped out of Reed College, he informally dropped in on certain courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of his favorites was calligraphy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why the fonts on a Mac are visually striking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steve Jobs saw the craving for beauty before he saw programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe designed the (calligraphy) into the Mac.  It was the first computer with beautiful typography.  If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces.  And since Windows just copied the Mac, it\u2019s likely that no personal computer would have them.\u201d  Steve Jobs, 2005 Stanford Speech<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Great wealth is highly sensitive to the actions we take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wealth breathes inside of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it\u2019s manifest through persistent acts of creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wealthy spark #2:<\/mark>Fan creativity<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stay glued to creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s not what George Bailey did in the movie It\u2019s A Wonderful Life<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n

He didn\u2019t have a wonderful life, just like so many in the workforce today, because he limited his work philosophy to hard-core grinding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was it.  Find a job that makes \u201ccents\u201d and stick to it even if it doesn\u2019t match your soul and spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s what Tom Douglas did in the eighties in Dallas, trying to lease buildings as a commercial real estate agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ran into Tom at church one day and asked him about business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He gave me that deadpan look and said it was so bad that it…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMakes you wanna smoke cigarettes and drink hard liquor.\u201d<\/strong>  Tom Douglas<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Like George Bailey, Tom was depressed in a highly commendable career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He knew his work wasn\u2019t glued to his soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I asked him on another day at church, \u201cTom, what do you wanna really do?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWrite country music.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right, Tom.  Just like everybody else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Except Tom was rewarded when he did just that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Move to Nashville and write country music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He signed me to Sony Publishing…Collin Raye recorded Little Rock…it went to #1…the Red Sea parted and I walked to the Promise Land”  Tom Douglas<\/strong>, Songwriters Bleed Ink<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

Tom Douglas wrote top ten hits for Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, and John Michael Montgomery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2010, he was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the song \u201cComing Home.\u201d  In 2014, he was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wealthy folks stay glued to creativity even when the present circumstances defy faith. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wealthy spark #3:<\/mark>Be an amateur<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Be a silly amateur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his book Show<\/em> Your<\/em> Work, <\/em>Austin Kleon says<\/span><\/span> that a pro is just an amateur \u201cwho gets obsessed by something and spends a ton of time thinking out loud about it.\u201d  In effect, a pro is an amateur willing to be a fool in love with an idea repeatedly.<\/p>\n\n\n
