Norman Cota created exceptional success for the men he led under fire.<\/p>\n

While many were dying and succumbing to German firepower, Cota charged.<\/p>\n

On D-Day, the 51 year old brigadier general confronted a group of soldiers pinned down by enemy fire and said . . .<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us go inland and be killed.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 Norman Cota<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cota asked the commander of the group, \u2018What outfit is this?\u2019<\/p>\n
