Aren&#8217;t you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, bitcoin fell 80% off a cliff.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest roller coaster? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 45% plunge in four months, from October 2025 to February 6, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was no single trigger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just a familiar selloff. Crowded trades. Leverage. Price over understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manias change. Maniac behavior does not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Stevie Nicks sang, &#8220;The sea changes color, but the sea does not change.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that the less investors understand about a mania&#8217;s object, the more obsessed they are to own it at any price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not a wise plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">I&#8217;m not going to argue the pleasure of a venture highly rewarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is anything better than scoring big on investments?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How about good returns over a long time?&nbsp; Boring?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What about good health built from great habits over time? Mundane?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even with good health, tight money brings stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And people think about money all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most Americans are living one of three financial nightmares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In debt even with high income<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paycheck to paycheck with little savings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overloaded with discontent and dissatisfaction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>No wonder bitcoin is in the headlines!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, after studying, writing and speaking on financial topics for forty years, I believe in three blazing rules for finding and keeping financial freedom in a chaotic world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"h-blaising-financial-rule-1-no-home-runs\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"><strong>Blaising Financial Rule #1<\/strong>:<\/mark><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"> No home runs<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every investment that takes off like a rocket usually falls like a rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s a bad investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s just that folks often gamble <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.steveblaising.com\/content\/how-rich-people-think-about-money-3-secrets-they-never-share\/\">money<\/a> with more risk than they can afford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>\u201cYou only find out who\u2019s swimming naked when the tide goes out.\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;
