The time has arrived to focus on big new goals.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every great movement in politics, faith, or business is open to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have never specified long-range goals on an urgent time schedule or managed our resources and time so as to insure their fulfillment.” <\/strong>John F. Kennedy, Speech to Congress, May 1961.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Kennedy challenged the country to put a man on the moon by the end of that decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we are going to be passionate about changing the world, we’ve got to be open to new information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s a fear of information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Socrates said his mission with the young men of Athens was to lead them from unconscious ignorance to conscious ignorance.  To realize that we don’t know all there is to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s where big, hairy, audacious goals “BHAG” come into play.  They propel us forward to discover and achieve what was previously unheard of.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Great leaders inspire trust<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Mother Theresa once said of Ronald Reagan, “In this man, greatness and simplicity are one.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why?  Because his character inspires trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many who didn’t agree with Reagan still believed in him because they knew the person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He championed ageless principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Work<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    His 1980 campaign began with an affirmation in Liberty State Park, Hudson County, NJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    From that point on, any policy proposal was coined in terms that served all Americans, not just one industry or one party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
