Chick Williamson was Chairman and CEO of the Louisiana Land and Exploration Company, a Fortune 500 company. He was a mentor to entrepreneurs and loved solving problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After listening to my issue, he said, &#8220;That&#8217;s a two-drink problem,&#8221; which freaked me out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then he said, &#8220;You&#8217;ve made the problem worse by fighting alone.  You need a big gorilla.  When you&#8217;re in the ring, take a big gorilla with you.  Focus the problem&#8217;s fury onto the big gorilla.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simple enough and more profound than I realized!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"h-faith-anchor-4-no-gorilla-is-more-giant-than-god\">Faith-anchor #4: No gorilla is more giant than God<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>My big gorilla is God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8220;The Lord is my shepherd . . .&#8221;<\/strong> Psalm 23<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The power of Psalm 23 is its seventeen pronouns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Psalm 23:1-6<\/strong><br><sup>1<\/sup> &nbsp;The LORD is<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"> my<\/mark> shepherd, <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">I<\/mark> shall not want.<br><sup>2 <\/sup>&nbsp;He makes <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">me<\/mark> lie down in green pastures; He leads <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">me<\/mark> beside quiet waters.<br><sup>3 <\/sup>&nbsp;He restores <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">my<\/mark> soul; He guides <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">me<\/mark> in the paths of righteousness For His name&#8217;s sake.<br><sup>4 <\/sup>&nbsp;Even though <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">I<\/mark> walk through the valley of the shadow of death,<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"> I<\/mark> fear no evil, for You are with <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">me<\/mark>; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">me<\/mark>.<br><sup>5 <\/sup>&nbsp;You prepare a table before <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">me<\/mark> in the presence of <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">my<\/mark> enemies; You have anointed <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">my<\/mark> head with oil; <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">my <\/mark>cup overflows.<br><sup>6 <\/sup>&nbsp;Surely goodness and mercy will follow <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">me<\/mark> all the days of <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">my<\/mark> life, And <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">I<\/mark> will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My uncle claims <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.steveblaising.com\/content\/how-to-transform-your-rut-into-a-runway\/\">Psalm 23 saved him<\/a> on his 330 day march with the 35th Infantry Division, 134th Regiment through France, Belgium, and Germany all the way to Berlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fierce WW2 vet, he always came to our house quoting Psalm 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Couldn&#8217;t make sense of that when I was a kid.
